Susan L. Huffman, CFA
Susan is a founder and Principal of Reliant Investment Management,LLC, as well as its predecessor firms, Weibel Huffman Keegan, Inc. and Weibel and Logan Investment Management. Susan serves as Chief Manager of the firm and as the company’s Chief Investment Officer. Before starting her own firm in 1986, she served as an officer in the Trust Investment Division of Union Planters National Bank. Susan is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Rhodes College, where she earned the BA degree, cum laude, in Business Administration and Economics. She holds the Chartered Financial Analyst professional designation from the CFA Institute, and is a past president of the CFA Society of Memphis. Susan serves on the Investment Advisory Council for the Tennessee Consolidated Retirement Systems (TCRS), which assists the Treasurer of the State of Tennessee and its investment staff in investment strategy decisions for the TCRS portfolios.

John R. Huffman
John is a founder and Principal of Reliant Investment Management, LLC. John joined Reliant’s predecessor firm, Weibel Huffman Keegan, Inc. in 1992. His ongoing responsibilities at Reliant include equity and fixed income portfolio strategy, portfolio management, marketing, client relationship management, and client service. John is a graduate of Christian Brothers University, where he received a BS degree in Economics and Finance. After serving in the Marine Corps, he earned an MBA in Finance from the University of Memphis. John served two terms as Mayor of the City of Piperton, Tennessee. He also served as Vice-Chairman of the Regional Advisory Committee of the Memphis Metropolitan Planning Organization, and is a past President and Board Member of the Wolf River Conservancy.

Lon M. Magness
Lon is a Principal of Reliant Investment Management, LLC, where his responsibilities include portfolio management, investment strategy, regulatory compliance, and client service. Lon is a graduate of Tulane University, where he received a Bachelor of Arts in History and English, and subsequently completed Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University. Prior to joining Reliant, Lon was President of a bank-affiliated registered investment advisory firm, and also as Senior Vice President and Division Head of the Portfolio & Funds Management Division of National Commerce Financial Corporation, a $20 billion regional banking and financial services company. Lon serves on the Board of several private financial service and agri-buisness related companies, and actively serves with a number of not-for-profit organizations. He is a member of Second Presbyterian Church in Memphis, and engaged in several of its affiliated ministries.

Hugh B. Walmsley, CGFO, CPA(ret.)
Hugh joined Reliant Investment Management in 2005 and serves as a portfolio strategist and client relationship manager. Hugh is a CPA (inactive), with 30 years of experience in government finance and public accounting. Prior to joining Reliant, Hugh served as the Director of Finance for Caddo Parish, Louisiana, where he was responsible for all aspects of finance for a parish with a budget of $52,000,000 and 340 employees, including the management of parish funds. He earned a BS Degree in Business (Accounting) from the Louisiana Tech University, and is a member and past president of both the Louisiana Government Finance Officers Association and the Organization of Parish Administrative Officials.

Reid W. Wesson, CFA, CFP ®
Reid joined Reliant as an analyst intern in 2010, and joined the Firm full time in 2011. He is a graduate of the University of Mississippi with a BA in Accountancy and a minor in Mathematics. Since joining Reliant, Reid’s responsibilities have grown to include investment research and analysis, compliance, portfolio management and accounting, performance measurement, and client service. Reid holds the Chartered Financial Analyst professional designation from the CFA Institute and is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner. Prior to shifting his primary focus to the business world, Reid served as a youth ministry intern where he fostered relationships and mentored to high school students.

Dennese serves as the Operations Manager for Reliant, and has been with the Firm since its founding, and served in the same capacity with its predecessor firm since 1991. Ms. Black works closely with the Firm’s clients and oversees all portfolio accounting, trading, client service, and other investment operations functions. She is a “Team in Training” coach and served as Trustee of the Mid-South Chapter of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Emily Dafferner, CFP ®
Emily joined Reliant in 2014. She is a graduate of Rhodes College where she earned a BA Degree in Political Science. Her responsibilities with the Firm include supporting both the operations area and supporting the firm’s portfolio managers. She is instrumental in trade settlement and portfolio accounting, and has frequent interaction with clients and Reliant’s independent custodians. Prior to joining Reliant, Emily spent five years working for an independent insurance agency, specializing in commercial property and casualty insurance. She holds a TN P&C insurance license, and is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner.
